@Zha:
Allow me to retort in a way that isn't insulting and completely patronizing.
-On dumbing down-
The only thing that makes a feature "fluff" is the amount of work a dev is willing to put into it. Just because the dev says it's unnecessary in a PR statement doesn't mean there's *no way* it could have been kept in and improved. "Unnecessary" is just how they chose to frame it for the public.
Honestly, I don't care for the whole setup.
I would rather she actually have some related experience to this "first" adventure so she's not acting like a total neophyte, just making rookie mistakes.
Like the Casino Royale Bond they're trying to compare her to.
Yeah, I figure MS will want a bigger, better format.
I remember when they talked big about digital downloads, but we all know that's just not going to happen anytime soon.
Dunno, but hopefully it's not another year of meh Kinect games, timed-exclusive DLC, and free services "adding value" to XBLG.
Those are not things I get excited about, personally.
Wow. What a coincidence.
I've been trying to burn through this trilogy over my vacation break. Been pretty nice so far.
As much as I enjoy some titillation, those costumes are pretty ridiculous, in a bad way. I mean, on the official site the "Punisher" design literally has her bare ass showi--
Hey, where did everyone go?
People put too much on it.
"Best RPG ever"? "Perfect adventure"? "Incredible writing"?
Not by a long shot. And TES is my favorite RPG franchise.
Skyrim is an artistically rejuvenated Oblivion with a few new bells and whistles. It's a refinement of preexisting elements, a very successful refinement. But if you listen to a lot of the people praising it, you'd think this was their first TES:
The UI among other failings is disappointing, but not unexpected.
Good game overall, but their multiplatform strategy frankly sucks.
@Pimp:
Paying to play MP is the chief feature that allows MS to keep its membership numbers high. It's not about members paying for the quality of the service... That's a justification. Members pay because they want to get online and enjoy the rest of their game.
And let's not forget that while it adds some features, there are "massive" drawbacks. Massively multiplayer. Or are you enjoying all the MMOs MS promises but never gets: Marvel...
If the games actually dealt with subject matter other than explosions and tits (beloved by all ages) I don't think kids would even care to play them. As it stands, the M mostly tells them where they can score.
Sounds a lot like the basic three elements of any game: art design and code.
I don't get where he's coming from.
"Non-gaming" top ten lists like what?
Amen. Witcher 2 was incredible and an improvement on practically everything from the first game.
In fact, it accomplished just as much (if not more) for a sequel as ME2 did. Yet, it doesn't seem to get half the acclaim or fanfare.
Big Japan-only fest here. Let's change that.
Planescape: Torment
Xenogears
Morrowind
I really want a SMT proper.
I used to want a Persona 5, until they ran Persona 4 into the ground with multiple re-releases, merchandise, and a friggin stage play.
Feels like they tried so hard to make me sick of it and now I kinda am.
I feel bad for the company that actually makes the controllers cos people aren't going to be able to tell the difference between them and this idiot's marketing firm.
Interesting first look. Keepin my eye out for this one.
@morgan:
Still have me on ignore from that time I was winning an argument with you? Older doesn't always mean wiser.
Anyway, I think the question has already been answered by the game's designers.
FFXIII was not entirely loved or entirely hated. But it sorely deserves both for bringing both a kind of evolution (or devolution) in the series and a bucking of trends set by its contemporaries.
But I don't think it should...
Seems like this might end up on the short list of must haves.
If Dreamcast is "old school", what the heck are consoles I actually grew up with?
